October 2009, We are very excited about our MoneyCard, and the line-of-credit available to our customers starting November
16th 2009. The line-of-credt product is like the previous H.E.L.P. product offered in the past and is very popular
with our customers. Just another way we are trying to provide the products and services you disire, every tax season. MoneyCard
will be available in each office, for a limited time only, and become available again for the 2010 tax season in January.
December 16, 2007. Of all the products and services we have offered in the past I beleive that the H.E.L.P. loan,
available last several years, was a real popular product for our customers. However, it will not be available this year
because of changes in the banking industry. The "Money Now" loan will be available with your W-2, and
upon acceptance from the IRS with electronic filing in the new year. This will be planned for January 11th this tax
season. We are very happy you have chosen Jackson Hewitt Tax Service, and will continue to bring you the best products
and services available.
December 18th 2006 Largo Maryland. We are happy to announce that the updated and enhanced NEW "Money NOW" loan
will be available as a "Pre-File" product again this year, and the start date will be DECEMBER 29th 2006. This is the
first time we had a product like this available in the month of December, for the following year tax refund. Act now,
bring in your END-OF-YEAR pay stubs from all your jobs, and apply for the "Money NOW" Pre-file loan. W-2 is not required
for this loan.
Largo, MD October 2005 Our New and Improved "Money Now" product will be available this season starting January
2nd. We are very excited to announce this improved product, and we will roll-out this customer requested product with
the new tax season. Look for your "New and Improved" MONEY NOW!
Upper Marlboro, Maryland June 22 2004 - The Jackson Hewitt Stock offering priced today at $17/share. There were
13m shares traded and the low price for the day was $16.55, but the stock ended it's first day of trading - up, and closed
at $17.25. There are mixed feelings about the offering, however it did trade 13 million shares the first day, and that
seems to be a good sign. The symbol on the NYSE is JTX. Good luck, and we did take a position in the stock.
Orlando, Florida, June 19, 2004 - The annual National Convention was in Orlando Florida this past week, and there
were a record number of attendee's. (1080) Mr. Mike Lister (CEO) gave a great accounting of the direction of the company,
and was followed by several of the usual Vice-Presidents, who in turn added additional insights about our vision of continued success.
It was really great to see so many "old friends" and inspiring to see so many new faces joining the Jackson Hewitt Family.
Please visit JHNET for a full recap of the event.
April 30th, 2004 Upper Marlboro, MD - Another tax season has come to an end, and the end of season banquet has been a
real success. We had over 250 attending the banquet at Martin's Crosswinds in Greenbelt, and everyone had a real
good time. (All Y'all). The tax season ended with a slightly negative return count, however we had 14 offices
open this season, five more than last season. We were very pleased with all the effort and hard work this year,
and look forward to next season. watch for the banquet photo's soon.
January 25th 2004. All offices are offering the Jackson Hewitt "Money Now" product and have had great success.
Our customers have chosen this way of getting the RAL in advance of the normal 1 to 3 days for the first $700 of the loan.
About 60% of all our RAL customers have chosen this advance, and of that, 84% have been approved by the bank. We ard
delighted to offer our customers products and services that they have asked for and with this kind of response, they really
want. Best wishes for a great tax season.
November 23rd,2003, Temple Hills Maryland, The "20 problems" instruction have arrived from Jackson Hewitt, Inc.
and we are in the process of distribution throughout the district. The training is required by all returning employees
with the execption of "Peak Preparer" status team members. Check with each office for new hours of operation or call
Clarence Blair at 301-899-0904 for additional information.
November 19th, 2003, Hyattsville, Maryland. The location at 6511 Annapolis Road, Capital Corner, has been approved
and a lease has been signed. We have ordered computers and furniture, and now getting the space ready for
the tax season. H&R Block rented the space last year, and prepared over 1600 tax returns there last season.
We hope to also have the seasonal location in the Capital Plaza Mall across the street as usual.
November 17th, 2003 Temple Hills, Maryland. The H.E.L.P. Loan starts today and is available to quailifing customers
through December 22nd. The distribution of funds are as a check from the bank, the Jackson Hewitt "CashCard", or
through a direct deposit to the customer's account. Approval rates should be as good as, or better than last year.
October 21st, 2003 Temple Hills, Maryland. The October Income Tax Classes have started Monday and Tuesday,
with a very good turn-out of interested students. The Instructors have said that very few classes have to be combined,
and most instructors have enough students to maintain class. The only problem is textbooks, but the shipment has left
the warehouse in Ohio, and should be here on Wednesday, and then everyone will have what they need. Thanks again to
Arthur Murray, Jackson Hewitt Tax Service of Washington DC for his help in obtaining additional textbooks. We are looking
forward to offering employment to all our students this year, and we are on our way to yet another very successful tax season.
October 15th 2003, Temple Hills, Maryland. The Basic Tax Classes have come to the end of the first six weeks instruction.
Most students have now learned the finer points of income tax preperation, and are looking forward to the mid-term exam.
Most students are moving on to the more extensive and complex "Part 2" classes starting next week, and will be continuing
class into December. We are looking forward to providing everyone with employment applications for this
year's tax season, and have some very exciting incentive programs underway for everyone. We are well on our way to our
goal of 20,000 satisified Jackson Hewitt Customers, and will need your help to reach it.
October 1, 2003 Bowie, Maryland. The final settlement on the purchase of the Bowie and the Largo Jackson Hewitt
Offices has been completed. We now welcome the staff and customers of Bowie and Largo (Upper Marlboro) into our system.
Thanks to all who have made this transition possible, and we look forward to a seemless and transparent combining of
the two areas. Well done!
September 27th 2003, Las Veges, NV. The "Large Entity" meeting this year was a big success. We were
able to network with the franchise owners from around the nation with an average return count of over 18,000 tax returns.
We have been discussing major items of concern to all franchise owners, and of course business and technology issues.
Bringing back good business information is far more valuable than "winning at the tables", at least for this season.
September 5th, 2003, Bowie Maryland, The purchase of the Jackson Hewitt Franchise in Bowie and Largo is progressing
nicely. We have been in contact with the Largo landlord and the transfer has been approved, pending the purchase of
the territory. Bowie has been approved by the landlord and the transfer papers are being prepared. The application
for the necessary Jackson Hewitt, Inc. approval have been sent to Parsippany New Jersey today. Closing and settlement
is due to be completed by September 16th, 2003.
September 2nd, 2003, Suitland Maryland. The lease agreement for the St.Barnabas Road office has been canceled.
The local landlord has changed the agreement and we cannot agree on the changes. We will keep looking in that area for
additional office locations in the future.
August 27th, 2003 Temple Hills, Maryland. The agreed lease for the Woodbury Square Shopping Center, was canceled
due to the contacting of H&R Block about our intent to rent the available space. The "other" company took advantage
of our interest in opening an office in the shopping center, and convinced the landlord of their interest being a better deal.
We will still look in that area for an office in the future.
